Neck Pain

Neck pain often involves both muscular and joint components, this can include jammed or restricted facet joints and tight muscles. Acupuncture works in a few ways to help release tight and painful neck issues. First we target muscular trigger and motor points to reduce spasm and improve muscle function. This in turn takes pressure off the joints, which eases pain and inflammation.

This combined approach works well for  conditions involving chronic tightness, postural strain, or degenerative changes. Leading to pain relief and improved range of motion.

In some cases, neck dysfunction can lead to nerve pain referral, tingling, or numbness in the shoulder, arm, hand or fingers.

Neck vertebral disc bulges can be responsible for this. Targeted needling and gentle electro-acupuncture encourage the disc to move back into it's correct position.

This reduces pressure on the nerves and reduces symptoms.

Headaches and migraines can stem from the neck and shoulder region also. It is important to release the neck and lower skull muscles to address these issues.

Whip lash injuries also respond very well to acupuncture, which helps to increase mobility and break up scar tissue.
